What we need from you

Send these and your entry goes up or gets corrected, usually within a few days.

• Gym name, full address and postcode as you want it printed.
• Phone number and website.
• Opening hours, including whether 24 hour access is staffed or fob only.
• Membership prices, joining fee, minimum term and any student or off peak rate. If you publish prices on your own site, say where.
• What you actually specialise in: strength, classes, boxing, functional, women only, pool, PT led.
• Anything you have opened, expanded or changed recently.

What listing does and does not do

It puts you on the area page for your postcode, on any specialist pages you belong on, and into the price table if you publish a price. It does not move you up the rankings, because the ranking is calculated from your Google rating and review count using the formula on how we rank, and we are not able to override it for anybody.

The single biggest thing you can do for your position is ask your members for reviews. A gym at 4.9 from 40 reviews will outrank a gym at 5.0 from four, every time, because the formula is built to reward evidence over enthusiasm.

Publish your prices

One piece of advice, offered free. Five well known clubs in this city publish no membership price at all, and every week people searching for a gym skip them for that reason alone. When we built the price table, the gyms with a number beside them were the ones readers could act on.

If you tell us a monthly rate, a joining fee and a minimum term, that is what appears beside your name on gym membership prices. If you would rather price on enquiry, we will note that too, plainly and without editorial comment.
