Gyms in the Golden Triangle are small, independent and studio shaped, which is exactly what you would expect of Victorian terraces with no room for a retail park box.

The Golden Triangle is the NR2 wedge between Colman Road, Earlham Road and Newmarket Road, built from the 1840s to the early 1900s and named by estate agents in the 1980s. Unthank Road is its spine and its shopping street.
For a full gym floor, the Golden Triangle sends you out: The Gym Group Norwich City is a walk into town, Sportspark is a short drive west.
This is the densest studio neighbourhood in Norwich, and it is where the area's fitness money actually goes. Christina Fulcher Pilates at 129 Unthank Road holds 5.0 from 85 reviews. Row Pilates on St Benedict's Street, ad plus yoga on NR2 4SN, Happy Om Yoga, Inner Space and Lohan Martial Arts all sit inside the same few streets, with Pilates East tucked into Labour In Vain Yard in the centre.
Assassins Fight and Fitness on Helford Street and SKAR Muay Thai on Barker Street cover the striking side. Norwich Kung Fu Academy is in NR2 3QA.
Professionals, families and a large slice of UEA's students live here, and most of them can walk to a class and would have to drive to a squat rack. If your training is classes, pilates or swimming, the Golden Triangle is the best postcode in Norwich. If it is barbells, join somewhere else and accept the ten minute journey.
Nearest serious weights: the city centre at Perun Strength or NHF Gym, or Eaton and Cringleford for Hall Road and Sportspark.
Within walking or a short drive of Golden Triangle. Areas overlap, so a gym can appear on more than one area page.

LIFTD on Unthank Road, Wentworth Pool and Sauna on Newmarket Road, Recreation Road Sports Centre, and Complete Fitness just north on Heigham Street.
The NR2 wedge bounded by Colman Road, Earlham Road and Newmarket Road, with Unthank Road running through the middle of it.
Not inside it. Complete Fitness on Heigham Street is the closest, and The Gym Group on Little London Street is the nearest round the clock site in the centre.
Wentworth Pool and Sauna at 99 Newmarket Road, rated 4.9 from 139 reviews and open 6am to 10pm seven days a week.
Victorian terraced streets have no units big enough for a gym floor. The area went to studios instead, which is why the pilates and yoga density here is the highest in the city.
